Wool and silk
Silky lambswool pile (selected in spring, known as ‘Kork’, on a cotton backing).
Beautifully fine
Density approx. 7/7,500 knots per dm²
Bordered carpet.
Good overall condition
Beautiful polychromy.
Ruby-red field with a mosaic decoration of flower stems, foliage, palmettes and botehs (a symbol of genesis and fertility, the seed motif) finely rendered in polychrome adorned with a central medallion in the shape of a stylised navy blue diamond featuring stylised birds, inlaid with an ivory star-shaped flower.
Five borders, the main one being sky-blue ‘abrache’ (natural variation in the wool) featuring rows of floral bulbs encircled by slender stems with multicoloured garlands of flowers.
