IRAN Large Habibian Nain carpet Made of wool and silk Lambswool pile, high-quality silky texture, floral motifs surrounded by silk on a cotton backing. Density: approx. 9,000 knots per dm² Ivory field decorated with scrolls of slender, crenellated stems forming rings, ending in finely rendered flower buds and foliage in pastel shades, arranged symmetrically to frame a central rosette with a floral crown in ruby, midnight blue and sky blue, shaped like a round diamond. Four spandrels with motifs reminiscent of the medallion. Triple borders, the main one being beige and decorated with rows of fine, undulating twigs inlaid with delicately rendered palmettes and floral bulbs, beautifully balanced with the central field.
