This work corresponds to his painting listed in the archives under the title *Young Dutch Lady Embroidering*, presented at the 1866 Salon (no. 439) and whose current whereabouts are unknown. It was displayed there alongside another of his compositions: *Charles V, after his abdication and before retiring to the convent of Saint-Just, revisits the castle in Ghent where he was brought up* (no. 438).
