Long Kashmir shawl, second half of the 19th century
Weaving of polychrome wool yarns and black cotton creating a composition of long curved stems, poly-lobed mandorles, flowers, foliage and boteh spread around a central medallion in the shape of an eight-pointed star with a black background. The border is harlequinned with small polychrome arcatures and fringed on the two short sides. A numbered label sewn on the back.
Size of shawl: 340 x 160 cm
