SÈVRES, in the taste of.
A large circular porcelain potpourri and lid with polychrome and gold decoration alternating with friezes of scales, waves, roses and blue ribboned fillets. Mounted in gilt bronze, resting on a pedestal with four lion-leg shaped feet, the handles decorated with a mascaron, the trompe-l'oeil flower handle. Second half of the 19th century.
Bearing false marks of the Manufacture de Sèvres on the reverse.
