HENRI SELMER left-handed Jazz guitar, year 1938. Rare and unique Henri Selmer left-handed Jazz guitar. It bears the number 451 which corresponds to the year of manufacture 1938. This 2nd era (1936-952) "small mouth" model, 14 fret on the shoulder, is the only left-handed model guitar to come out of the Henri Selmer workshops. It bears its original label and the Selmer logo in gold on the headstock. Features : Walnut neck with 21-fret ebony fingerboard, 14 fret long neck. 2 mother-of-pearl markers changed on the fingerboard. SB action and tailpiece both marked Selmer (initials) Veined rosewood back and sides Spruce soundboard with restorations (cracks and small pieces) More recent ebony bridge and whiskers It comes with its luxurious BAM fibre case protected by a semi-rigid cover. History : Made in 1938, it was acquired around 1942 by a first owner from Nice, who eventually sold it to guitarist Challain Ferret. He used it on Django Reinhardt's tour in 1948, accompanying him on guitar. He eventually bequeathed it to his son Auguste Challain Ferret, who sold it to its last owner in 2013, The restorations to the soundboard and other adjustments probably date from this period. A rare dream guitar in playing condition and in good condition, which may need a few adjustments to return to its optimal state.
