François POMPON (1855-1933) White Bear Enamelled porcelain, slightly crackled white Stamp of the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres under the belly between 1928 and 1940 Slight lack of enamel on the nose 21 x 40 x 12 cm Provenance: gift to the grandparents of the current owners, late 1930s. Note: one of 632 produced by the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres between 1923 and 1934 in biscuit, enamelled porcelain or cracked enamel (the rarest) following the contract signed between Pompon and the Manufacture in 1922, which ended in December 1932 when the mould broke. An identical model, with versions in biscuit and enamelled porcelain, will be presented at the monographic exhibition at the Château de Frontenay (Jura) in summer 2026.
