First edition of this work by Henri MATISSE (1869-1954), featuring reproductions of 93 portraits by the artist, including 60 drawings, lithographs and paintings in black and 33 paintings in colour. This edition is sought-after because of the original, unsigned lithograph by Matisse on the frontispiece. The artist also designed a special cover for the book.
