Description
After Pierre-Philippe THOMIRE (1751-1843. Empire period gilt bronze and chased chariot clock decorated with Ganymede crossing the Heavens in Zeus' chariot drawn by two eagles. The dial with Roman numerals inscribed in the wheel, decorated with eagles, ewer and clouds as well as a bust of a winged woman. The dial and the plate of the movement signed Edmé Philibert GUYDAMOUR (1756-1799), in Paris, received master clockmaker in 1783, movement with wire with stamp and balance. Untested mechanism, in need of revision, one hand missing. The whole supported by three claws each holding a ball (missing a claw foot at the back). Height 52 cm, W. 42 cm, D. 14 cm
