Walnut veneer, walnut burl and marquetry decorated with birds and floral scrolls in ebony-stained pearwood on a background of maple and boxwood, the square dial signed "John Pyke, Bedford Row London" with silvered hour rings, seconds at XII o'clock, signature plate in the centre, date window, dotted centre, openwork gilt brass corner pieces showing an urn flanked by two birds, openwork blued steel hands; rectangular movement with two gear trains, four turned pillars, anchor escapement, spring suspension, striking on a gong; case decorated with arabesque marquetry around flowers, foliage and birds, 'caddy-top' shaped cap with concave mouldings, openwork bands and three spherical brass finials; small missing parts.
