LOUIS XVI PERIOD BUREAU CARTONNIER In rosewood, satinwood and amaranth veneer, decorated with chased and gilded bronze, the top opening out into eight drawers, four of which are sheathed in green leather gilded with small irons, the waist opening out into three drawers, the legs in a sheath, bearing an apocryphal stamp J.H.RIESENER under the right-hand crosspiece; the escutcheons and drawer knobs have been added. H. 114 cm (44 ¾ in.) l. 131 cm (51 ½ in.) P. 81 cm (31 ¾ in.) A Louis XVI gilt-bronze mounted, tulipwood, satinwood and amaranth bureau-cartonnier, bearing a spurious stamp by Jean-Henri Riesener *Information for buyers: A CITES re-export permit may be required if the item is to be exported from the EU.
