SET OF NINE MONTED PLAQUES, 17th AND 18th CENTURY ITALIAN WORK In marquetry of hard stones and polychrome marbles, comprising a pair of paesina plaques, three medallions, two of which are decorated with architecture and one with a bouquet of flowers, a medallion decorated with a dog, three decorated with birds perched among branches, two of which are on a black marble background and one with lapis lazuli, on a walnut background surrounded by a carved and gilded wood frieze, and a later ebony frame. Size (unframed): 30 x 39 cm (11 ¾ x 15 ¼ in.) Dimensions (with frame) : 45 x 50 cm (17 ¾ x 19 ¾ in.) Provenance: Former Gismondi collection; Christie's Paris sale, 12 March 2024, lot 74 ; Acquired by the current owner.
