LARGE LACQUER INKWELL MOUNTED IN VERMEIL The bell by Léopold Antoine, Paris 1731-1732 The pots, Paris 1728-1729 L'éteignoir et le porte-écran by Jean-Charles Cahier, Paris 1809-1819 The lids and tray mount apparently unmarked The tray of rectangular curved form resting on four leafy feet, the edge gadrooned with two leafy grips, the centre in Japanese lacquer, Edo period, 18th century, gilded and silvered with decoration of poultry and birds in a lacustrian landscape on a black background, the medallion under the bell engraved "Donné en 1753, à mon petit-fils L.D.COTTIN DE FONTAINE, aged 6 / In 1825 A.M.P.de Neuflize, his widow passed it on to Ernest de Breteuil his grandson and godson, aged 8 and a half.
