A mantelpiece set comprising a clock and a pair of onyx, pewter and tinted glass candlesticks. The clock rests on a stepped plinth of rectangular cross-section, supporting a pewter lampshade. The dial features Arabic numerals and has two keyholes. The movement is a pendulum-driven mechanism with a blade suspension, bearing the hallmark ‘F MARTI à Vx CHARMONT – 1889 Exhibition Medal’. Dated from the first half of the 19th century, in the Art Deco style. Dimensions of the clock: Height 29 cm. Width 50 cm. Dimensions of one bowl: Height 23 cm. Diameter 16 cm. Pendulum and gong missing. Small chips to the bowls.
