A substantial blackened wooden chest decorated with brass and tortoiseshell marquetry, opening via a hinged lid. Napoleon III period (damage, signs of wood-boring insects) 24 x 59 x 39 cm Note: Specimen made from sea turtle shell (Chelonioidea spp) (I/A) dating from before the Convention, prior to 1 July 1947, and therefore compliant with EC Regulation 338/97 of 9 December 1996, Article 2-Wmc. In the event of export, it is the responsibility of the prospective purchaser to enquire, prior to any purchase, with the customs authorities of the country concerned, particularly in the case of the United States. For export from the EU, a CITES re-export permit will be required, the cost of which shall be borne by the prospective purchaser.
