Carl-Harry Stålhane 4 Handled vases (Models 3SYR and 1SYS) Glazed stoneware Signed Rörstrand H23 cm H21 cm H16 cm H8 cm Carl-Harry Stålhane (Åmål, 1920 – 1990) is the undisputed master of post-war Swedish ceramic design. For over two decades at the Rörstrand factory, he developed glazes of exceptional chromatic richness and forms that defined the aesthetic of modern Nordic ceramics. The SYR model is one of his most famous: these vases with handles, of absolute formal simplicity, reveal the full depth of Stålhane’s glazes. His pieces are held at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and in numerous European museum collections. A cohesive set of three pieces by this great ceramist.
