Floor lamp
Stainless steel base, hand-blown glass
Year of creation: 2024
H150 W30 cm
This floor lamp combines a satin-finished stainless steel body with a hand-blown glass shade, the whole piece crafted with great attention to detail in France. The design is distinguished by its base, conceived as a spectacular vertical extension of the shade’s form, stretched to 200%. This bold and unique approach creates a striking visual contrast between the smooth, industrial quality of the steel and the delicate, artisanal nature of the glass.
The elongated base gives the piece a sense of movement, whilst the soft light diffused by the glass shade brings an elegant and welcoming atmosphere to the space.
Cristian Herrera Dalmau, born in Barcelona on 3 October 1988, is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts. His work lies at the intersection of design and art. Skilled in working with iron, wood and stone, he designs furniture and objects for clients whilst developing an artistic practice based on performance and video installation.
The pieces he creates, which are unique and designed for each performance, are subsequently presented as works in their own right. His work deliberately blurs the boundaries between designer and artist, exploring the object as language and action as message, and placing his creations at the intersection of subject and object.
