Todomuta Re-BUILT Side table Steel and glass Limited edition of 5 pieces + 1 artist’s proof H46.2 W107 D35.2 cm 52 kg The Todomuta studio was founded in 2011 under the artistic direction of Laura Molina and Sergio Herrera. The studio is characterised by constant research, both formal and narrative, focusing on a tireless quest for new forms and perspectives that revolve around art and design, exploring their boundaries. A discourse recognisable for its singularity, yet without fixed rules. Since its inception, the studio has prioritised original work and self-production, creating timeless objects, far removed from the market’s imitative trends. This self-production is characterised by a constant attention to detail, experimentation and a commitment to traditional craft processes, infusing them with a contemporary approach through the coexistence of these processes with the resources offered by new technologies; thus creating new connections, both in terms of ideas and production. Re-BUILT arises from the mimetic relationship between form and structure, conventionally conceived as a duality. Here, they form an inseparable unity. In an exercise in unashamed simplicity, the piece is presented stripped down, devoid of any residual material.
