Urban Mines is a furniture collection created from discarded household appliances and metal recovered from recycling centres. This collection aims to give new meaning to objects considered as waste and to recognise the latent potential of discarded materials, offering them a second life.
Marta Torrent Boix, a designer and product creator, currently lives in London where
she developed this project, combining her passion for metal craftsmanship with a sustainable perspective. Using a photographic archive, she documents the growing problem of electronic waste and explores its reuse. The exhibition culminates with her participation in the Entorns artist residency.
