Description
Roger Coll Happy Collapse High-fire ceramic (1250°C), glaze H27 W16 D21 cm During his residency at the International Ceramics Studio in Hungary, Roger Coll had the opportunity to experiment with tools, processes, techniques and clays that he did not usually use. It was there that Happy Collapse was born, a clear reference to architecture and Roger Coll’s background as a technical architect. A metaphor for the feeling that everything could collapse, much like the collapse of a building. A sense of instability, whilst conveying a deep sense of optimism through colour and finish. Roger Coll belongs to this new generation of artists who are rethinking ceramics without inhibitions and sit outside traditional categories. Originally from Badalona (Barcelona), he now lives and works in Vic. He studied technical architecture at ETSA, at La Salle University in Barcelona, sculpture at EASD Llotja in Barcelona, and ceramics at the Forma School in Barcelona, at EASD Pau Gargallo and at EASD Vic.
