Juliette Somnolet FLAGS Sculpture Windows, metal, ceramic, brass wire, beeswax H180 W40 D30 cm Sculpture can be dismantled into 3 parts for shipping. The “FLAGS” series draws inspiration from the windows of working-class homes around the world and their disappearance in favour of more energy-efficient models against the backdrop of the energy transition. The artist has mounted these windows on metal posts to create “flags”, like so many banners of disappearing vernacular craftsmanship. She then reworked them with ceramic spikes fired in the wood-burning stove of her temporary studio in Switzerland.
