In 1986, Philippe Starck was at the height of his meteoric rise — he had just redesigned the private apartments at the Élysée Palace for François Mitterrand and was about to design Café Costes, which would bring his name to the attention of the global public. It was against this formative backdrop that he designed the Usine Laguiole in Aveyron, a building that has since become iconic, distinguished by its organic forms and the famous knife embedded in the roof. This aluminium model, produced by OWO in a strictly limited edition of 500, is an exceptional collector’s item: at once a sculpture, a historical document and a testament to Starck’s architectural genius at a pivotal moment in his career. Complete copies in good condition are becoming increasingly rare on the international market.

The OWO architectural models from 1986 constitute a rare collection, a unique testament to his approach at a pivotal moment in his international emergence.
