Description
HEIM + VILADRICHSTACK STACK Shelf Waxed aluminium H125 W60 D30 cm Approx. 60kg Limited edition of 50 pieces HEIM + VILADRICH STACK Shelf / storage unit An architectural structure comprising stacked aluminium modules, forming a vertical unit with geometric and minimalist lines. Bibliography: With STACK, the design duo Heim + Viladrich have created a piece that straddles the line between functional furniture and sculpture. The regular stacking of the waxed aluminium elements creates a particularly graphic vertical structure, whilst the finish of the metal highlights the play of light and the materiality of the surface. Produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces, STACK falls within the realm of contemporary collectible design, combining minimalist aesthetics, architectural construction and aluminium craftsmanship. The STACK SHELF is an object in its own right, devoid of any superfluous elements, and is both functional and sculptural. Its form derives directly from the dimensions of the largest aluminium profile available. Its design lies solely in the number of sections — in this case, ten sections of 600 mm each — of the six-metre-long rectangular profile, as well as in the spacing between the individual elements. The slightly brushed finish of the surface serves the sole purpose of bringing out the natural appearance of the aluminium and creating a subtle interplay with the light, which brings the object to life and highlights the careful balance of proportions and volume.
