Description
Philippe Starck (born 1949) Tippy Jackson Table Circular tabletop in black-stained wood resting on a black-lacquered tubular metal frame. France, circa 1980. Condition: Very good overall condition, slight signs of wear. Representative of his early explorations into furniture that is at once architectural, graphic and deliberately minimalist. The tripod base is enlivened by two broad, curved elements forming arches, giving the piece a particularly graphic and instantly recognisable silhouette. Through its economy of form, the use of metal tubing and the interplay between straight and curved lines, the Tippy Jackson exemplifies the design language developed by Philippe Starck at the turn of the 1980s, prior to his international recognition.
