Pair of large torch-style wall lights in lacquered steel. Serge Mouille edition, limited to 25 pieces.
Serge Mouille (Paris, 1922 – 1988) was one of the most iconic figures in 20th-century lighting design. Trained as a silversmith, he revolutionised French lighting design from the 1950s onwards by creating ‘light sculptures’ of absolute formal inventiveness — articulated arms, organic forms, matt steel surfaces. His light fittings feature in the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Centre Pompidou, the MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum. The Serge Mouille edition faithfully carries on his legacy, in limited editions that guarantee their rarity and collectable value. This pair of torch-style wall lights, limited to 25 pieces, is a prestigious acquisition for any connoisseur of exceptional French design.
