LUCI Interior Lighting Model 480 Counterweight table lamp Black lacquered metal and chrome-plated metal frame. Weighted circular base supporting two chrome-plated vertical posts, adjustable counterweight mechanism and an adjustable cylindrical shade in black lacquered metal. Italy, circa 1970. H82 W32 cm In exceptional condition, almost as new, showing only very minimal signs of use and handling. Electrical system in working order; to be checked in accordance with current regulations. Bears the original label from the manufacturer LUCI – Illuminazione di Interni, with reference to model 480. A rare model 480 counterweight lamp, produced in Italy by LUCI – Illuminazione di Interni. Its construction is based on an ingenious balancing system combining two slender chrome-plated uprights, an upper counterweight and an adjustable cylindrical reflector. The contrast between the chrome-plated metal and the black lacquered elements accentuates the graphic and mechanical character of the piece. This example is particularly remarkable for its exceptional condition, which is almost as good as new, and for the presence of its original LUCI label specifying model 480.
