An exceptional PH 4/4 pendant light designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen in the early 1930s. This rare model is distinguished by its fully nickel-plated upper shaft, a finish produced solely to special order and charged as an extra at the time. Developed from the famous reflector system devised by Henningsen, the PH 4/4 model diffuses a soft and perfectly controlled light, without direct glare. This pursuit of absolute visual comfort constitutes one of Poul Henningsen’s major contributions to the history of modern design. Early examples are among the most sought-after luminaires from Louis Poulsen’s historic production. The special nickel-plated versions remain particularly rare on the market and are now highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian design.
