Luigi Caccia Dominioni (Milan, 1913 – 2016) was one of the most important figures in 20th-century Milanese design and architecture. Co-founder, alongside Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, of the Azucena company in 1947 — a leading Milanese manufacturer producing some of the most refined furniture of post-war Italy — he developed a formal vocabulary of unrivalled elegance and sophistication. The Chesa Daria daybed, whose name evokes Swiss chalets, combines the nobility of stained wood with the softness of ivory-coloured leather in a composition of understated magnificence. The creations of Azucena and Caccia Dominioni feature in the collections of the Milan Design Museum and are highly sought-after on the international market. A prestigious piece of furniture for a discerning interior.
