Description
Gerard Moliné (born in 1977) New Majolica 500cl #4 Hand-painted porcelain bottle Porcelain and earthenware Limited edition of 10 pieces H22 D6 cm A series of 10 bottles featuring traditional motifs applied to a contemporary form, championing the values of traditional craftsmanship and manual labour. The bottles, available in two sizes, were painted by a master potter from Badajoz. Gerard Moliné (born in 1977) Gerard Moliné is neither a potter nor a ceramist. He is an industrial designer, a creator of the new generation with an interest in the materials traditionally used by craftspeople. For some time now, he has been particularly drawn to clay because of its malleability and expressiveness; he is fascinated by the various stages this material undergoes from the moment it is extracted from its natural environment: the erosion and dissolution caused by water, its malleability in the potter’s hands and its hardening when exposed to fire.
