Description
Sainte Radegonde Workshops
Ceramic Ball Vase
‘Catherine’ model dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1940–1950
H24.5 cm
This masterpiece comes from the famous Sainte-Radegonde workshops in Tours, renowned
for their close collaboration with the Primavera art studio at the Printemps Esthétique & Design department store. The spherical body features a deep, vibrant glaze with speckled and mottled turquoise-green hues, topped by a bold, sculptural design entirely glazed in white: an imposing openwork collar in the shape of coils (often referred to as ‘curlers’) extends elegantly down the body via a sinuous, relief-carved twist. A striking contrast of colour and texture, typical of the most sought-after creations.
