A publication devoted to the history and design of domestic lighting in the 20th century, presenting a broad international overview of design, from the earliest applications of electricity right through to contemporary design of the 1980s. Nearly 500 light fittings were brought together for the exhibition, including designs by Pierre Chareau, Eileen Gray, Alvar Aalto, Gino Sarfatti, Pierre Guariche, Serge Mouille, Gio Ponti, Joe Colombo, Ettore Sottsass, Achille Castiglioni and Gae Aulenti, as well as numerous anonymous and industrial models.
