Description
Abigail Simpson (1964) Untitled Sculpture Ceramic Date of creation: circa 2020 H115 L60 D50 cm Abigail Ozora Simpson is an artist based in the United Kingdom. A practising ceramicist for thirty years, she exhibits both nationally and internationally. She was recently awarded the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship to undertake a Master’s degree in sculpture at the Royal College of Art (2024–2025). Abigail Ozora Simpson’s work draws on lived experience before branching out into universal ideas. She explores memory, sometimes echoing cultural values. The artist seeks to question perceptions and evoke sensations, a sense of presence and an atmosphere; she aims to imbue her works with a certain ambiguity whilst inviting the viewer to engage with them. Favouring philosophy over theory, she defines herself first and foremost as a creator of objects.
