Description
PichiAvo Opus Tectorium V Fresco painting on lime mortar applied to a panel 2026 H50 W50 D6 cm Against an earthy red background, a male figure inspired by ancient statuary stands out at the centre of the composition. Inscriptions, symbols and graffiti-like lines criss-cross the surface, creating a dialogue between classical iconography and contemporary urban expression. The grainy texture of the mortar and the irregular contours of the plaster evoke a fragment of a mural. Formed in Valencia in 2007, PichiAvo comprises the Spanish artists Juan Antonio, known as Pichi, and Álvari, known as Avo. Emerging from the graffiti scene, the duo has developed a visual language that combines Greco-Roman figures with urban art, through painting, sculpture and large-scale interventions.
