Description
Léon CABANIER (19th–20th centuries). Portrait of a hunting dog (a spaniel?). Oil on panel. Signed lower left. c. 1929. 24 x 18.5 cm. Recently cleaned, in fine condition. Léon Cabanier was a painter born in Carcassonne and a pupil of Charles François Jalabert (1818–1901). In 1912, he became curator of the Carcassonne Museum of Fine Arts, a post he held until 1938.
