Sacred art. Father Ilarion MURESAN (1942–2023), Romania. A pair of works mounted under glass depicting Saint George on horseback, and the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus. Signed and dated 1988. 34.5 x 29.5 cm, including the frame. These icons were painted by Archdeacon Ilarion Muresan of the Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Nicula. A retrospective exhibition of Father Ilarion’s paintings took place in 2022 in Cluj-Napoca.
