Description
Geo CONDE (1891–1980) for the Lunéville (Lorraine) pottery works, Edouard Fenal period. Vase decorated with stylised flowers and fruit, stamped ‘Faïencerie de Lunéville Grands Magasins aux Galeries Lafayette Paris’ (height 19.5 cm). Glazed earthenware decorated with an airbrush. 1920s–1930s. Condition: a small chip on the inside of the neck. A very similar vase, but marked “Badonviller” (both pottery works belonged to Fenal), was exhibited at the Sarreguemines Museums from 21 October 2011 to 29 January 2012, as part of the exhibition “Art Déco – Ceramics of Lorraine, 1919–1939’ (Badonviller no. 8) and reproduced in the catalogue on p. 102 (full page) and p. 131.
