Sacred art. A set of four exquisite images in mechanical lace (canivets) featuring: the first (published by Dopter) with a heart-shaped window revealing four heart-shaped floating images; the second (published by Basset) in the shape of a vase containing a rare bouquet of New Year’s gifts to the Blessed Virgin; the third (Boumard et Fils) is a double piece with gold-embossed highlights, and the last (Letaille) is a triptych with folding panels revealing the Immaculate Conception. Provenance: Evelyne TAVENAUX, author of *La Piété en dentelles* (Nancy University Press, 1992), for which several of these cards were used as illustrations, a copy of which is enclosed.
