Description
Sacred art. A collection of 18 devotional images, most in black and white, featuring superb machine-made lace (canivet). Published by Bouasse-Lebel, Bertin, Valerins-Jouan, Durand, Langlumé, Boumard et fils, Tony, Turgis, Lejeune, etc. They depict the Fountains of Purity, Saint Cecilia, the Paschal Lamb, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Flight into Egypt, the Descent from the Cross, girls receiving their First Communion, guardian angels, Saint Geneviève, Saint John, the Last Supper and, most surprisingly, Louise of Orléans, Queen of the Belgians. Second third of the 19th century. Very minor imperfections.
