Contemporary Turkish-Austrian painter and graphic artist. Born in Istanbul in 1941, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Max Weiler and Ernst Fuchs from 1961, where he joined the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. From the 1970s onwards, he developed his surreal-fantastic style characterised by dreamlike, symbolic compositions and took part in exhibitions in Vienna, Ankara and internationally. Deneç created expressive oil paintings and prints featuring mythological, erotic and abstract motifs that blend reality and fantasy; his works are held in collections such as the Artothek des Bundes.
