Austrian painter and graphic artist of the 20th century. Born in Vienna in 1937 as Emy Hudecek, she is thought to have studied at the Academy of Fine Arts or a Viennese art school and established herself as a leading figure in expressive, lyrical painting with Viennese influences; she remained active as a freelance artist in Vienna. Hudecek created colourful oil paintings, watercolours and drawings featuring Impressionist motifs such as cityscapes, flower arrangements and portraits, characterised by loose brushwork, transparent layers of colour and a poetic atmosphere.
