Alexander Rudolf Kubiczek (Wernburg, 1942) is an Austrian painter and graphic artist associated with contemporary modernism. Born in 1942 in Wernburg (now Wernigerode, Germany), he moved to Austria at a young age, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Herbert Boeckl, and from the 1970s onwards took part in exhibitions at the Vienna Künstlerhaus and international galleries, devoting himself to figurative painting featuring mythological and allegorical motifs. Kubiczek created expressive nudes, portraits and symbolic compositions characterised by bold impasto, dramatic contrasts of light and shadow, and visionary intensity, influenced by Boeckl, Fantastic Realism and Baroque drama.
