Gerda Matejka-Felden was an Austrian painter and a leading art educator. Following extensive artistic training, she worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1945 onwards, where she was one of the leading figures in art education after the Second World War. Her commitment to broadening art education was particularly significant, notably within the context of the Künstlerische Volkshochschule (Artistic Adult Education Centre), which she co-founded. She is regarded as one of the first women to hold a professorship at the Vienna Academy and combined artistic practice with a strong commitment to educational policy.
