Sepp Mayrhuber was an Austrian painter and graphic artist of the 20th century. Born in 1904 in Gaspoltshofen (Upper Austria), he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Rudolf Bacher, took part in exhibitions at the Künstlerhaus Wien (Vienna Artists’ Association) from the 1930s onwards, lived and worked primarily in Upper Austria, and devoted himself to landscapes, portraits and religious subjects. Mayrhuber created Upper Austrian landscapes, genre paintings and sacred works characterised by harmonious colours, fine brushwork and Impressionist-Realist elements, influenced by the Vienna School and regional folk art.
