Born in 1985 in Rodewisch/Vogtland, she studied under Horst Eczko in Lengenfeld from 1999 to 2005, completed her vocational baccalaureate in design in Plauen in 2003, studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts (HfBK Dresden) under Elke Hopfe and Christian Macketanz from 2005 to 2010, and completed a master’s programme there from 2010 to 2013. She has lived in Thuringia (Greiz) since 2012 and was awarded a Thuringian state scholarship in 2024. Pohl creates expressive oil paintings and prints characterised by intense colours, psychologically nuanced depictions of figures, and large-format compositions, often exploring themes of ‘Industry & Abyss’ or human existence, influenced by East German painting traditions and contemporary printmaking. Impasto brushstrokes with dramatic lighting and emotional intensity.
