Josef Stöckler was a deaf Austrian painter and gallery owner in Upper Austria. He mainly produced watercolours, prints and oil paintings. His subjects depict landscapes and natural scenes from the Kremstal. Despite being deaf, he began work in 1970 on Neupernstein Castle (Kirchdorf an der Krems), which has become an important centre for contemporary art.
