Leon Abramowicz was a Jewish Austrian-Polish painter who, in art-historical terms, is counted amongst the so-called ‘Lost Generation’. His life was profoundly shaped by his expulsion under the Nazi regime and his subsequent return to Vienna. His works reveal stylistic influences from significant artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cézanne, Oskar Kokoschka and Anton Faistauer. Abramowicz often painted with a very broad, expressive brushstroke. Other artists and terms: Karl Heinz Ritschel, Karl Raupp, floral still lifes, female nudes, portraits, interior scenes
