Rudolf Kučera was born in Brno in 1884. An academic painter and graphic artist, he occasionally worked as a puppeteer and author of puppet theatre plays. He created etchings of Vienna and Styria, amongst other subjects. His landscapes, cityscapes and portraits are characterised by naturalistic precision.
