Robert Libeski (Aachen 1892 – 1988 Klosterneuburg) was a German-Austrian painter and graphic artist of the modern era. Born in Aachen in 1892, he moved to Vienna at a young age, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Rudolf Bacher, and from the 1920s onwards took part in exhibitions organised by the Vienna Secession and the Künstlerhaus (Artists’ House). He settled in Klosterneuburg, where he remained active well into old age. Libeski created landscapes, portraits and still lifes characterised by clear compositions, nuanced colours and Impressionist-Expressionist elements, influenced by the Vienna School and his Rhenish-German roots.
