The largely self-taught Austrian artist Alois Leopold Seibold was a private pupil of the etcher and engraver Victor Jasper in Vienna. In 1909, he was exhibited for the first time in a show organised by the Hagenbund, of which he was a member from 1912 to 1924. From 1925 to 1939, the artist was a member of the Vienna Secession and, from 1940, of the Vienna Künstlerhaus. His body of work primarily comprises landscapes and sacred themes.
