ESTIMATE €800 – €1,600 STARTING PRICE €800 Clara Witte-Pelz, born in Osnabrück in 1886, received her artistic training in Worpswede, Karlsruhe, Berlin and Munich. On study trips to Holland and Paris, she familiarised herself with contemporary artistic developments; in 1912 she exhibited at the Berlin Secession. In addition to the work of her husband, the painter Curt Witte, Witte-Pelz developed an independent artistic vision. The artist was banned under Nazi rule; only a small part of her body of work has survived.
